If You Give A 14 Year Old A Camera...

After last week's photo shoot, Ashlynn asked to use the 5D and the studio lights because she had "an idea." This is the finished product. We're going to use a few on the website, they are so cool!

Jameson wanted in on the action so Ashlynn put him to use but Elise was not pleased to share the spotlight.

Here is the 8 year old destroying the almost 17 year old, under the direction of the photographer.

Love it!

A few "pretty" shots for the sake of propriety.

The Newest Ice Cream

I just heard this news:

In Honor of the 44th President of the United States, Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream has issued a new flavor, “Barocky Road.”
Barocky Road is a blend of half Vanilla, half Chocolate, and surrounded by Nuts and Flakes.
The Vanilla portion of the mix is not openly advertised and usually denied as an ingredient.
The Nuts and Flakes are all very bitter and hard to swallow.
The Cost is $1,000,000 per scoop.
When purchased, it will be presented to you in a large beautiful cone, but then the Ice Cream is taken away and given to the person in line behind you.
Thus you are left with an empty wallet, no change, holding an empty cone, with no hope of getting any Ice Cream.

Spring Break Frivolity

Oh the joys of Spring Break. One week off, slap dab in the middle of second semester, it boggles the mind how great it is. This year we decided to do a lot of day trips instead of the taking off and leaving the house for the week.

We went to the LA Zoo and Griffith observatory. I had never been to either and was surprised to find a beautiful botanical garden at the zoo. Ashlynn, being the flower girl, absolutely loved it. Her two favorite things in one place: flowers and animals. The observatory was fascinating. Well worth the trip. The museum was really cool. A kind docent told us to make sure to visit the bottom two floors which were virtually empty because people don't realize they are there. The Hollywood sign was clearly visible behind the observatory but a three mile walk...so next time.

We stood in line with another billion people to watch the newly released 3D version of Monsters versus Aliens. We took the kids bowling which we used to do all the time at BYU when Jameson was really little and would sit on the floor and push his bowling ball down the land.

And we went to the beach. A lovely beach called Salt Creek in Aliso Viejo. It was true break because none of us wanted to get back to life as normal.

Below are a few of the pics from the week. Hope everyone is well and enjoying their own beautiful spring weather.
