The Getty

After we went to Descanso Gardens, we spent some time at the Getty Center. It's funny how when you live "close" to places like this you tend not to go. When we go to Georgia, we go to all kinds of museums and historical sites. We've seen some cool things. But we never go to the things that are close. Did you know you can see paintings by Monet, Renoir and Van Gogh for free at the Getty? Well you do have to pay $8.00 to park, and don't go on Labor Day weekend. It took us 30 minutes to get into the parking garage. But it's a really awesome place.

Fossils in the tile that made up the whole floor and walls of this place.

Nice gardens

The strangest flower I've ever seen.
Our favorite sculpture in the museum.

Carrie meets Monet
Van Gogh

This guy was telling his kid to climb the wall so he could take a picture. We were about 50 feet above them shooting the opposite direction.

These pictues are great. We've been to Descanso Gardens many times, but we have never visited the Getty Center. It makes me want to go and see them for myself.

I love the Getty - its one of my favorite spots in Los Angeles. You should visit the Griffith Park Observatory next time you're in the area. They have a planetarium show that costs about 5 dollars and is one of THE coolest things to do in Los Angeles. Best part is, the rest of the space museum is free!

One of my good friends is a director at the Getty - tell me next time and I'll hook you up with back stage passes.
