I love taking pictures with Carrie. She has a natural flair for capturing moments . And more than that, she knows how to capture the essence of the people she photographs. Whenever we do a photo shoot, and I come back and start editing, I find that most of the shots that end up being my favorites--the ones that grab you--are Carrie's.I'm the tech geek who loves to talk gear, f-stops, shutter speeds, ISO settings, yada yada yada. But Carrie is the artist.
We had some great subjects to photograph a few weeks ago (Cameron and Katie). If you go to our website and click GALLERIES, you'll see the gallery of Cameron and Katie. They graciously allowed us to take up one Saturday evening of their time to help us build our portfolio. We came away with some really nice shots.
For you photo geeks though, Carrie shot most of these with the Canon 5D and Canon 85mm 1.8 lens. This is truly a fantastic kit for portraiture. Of course the 85 1.2L would be a nice addition, but at $1600, that one can wait.
Yes, Katie is beautiful, and yes, Cameron is, well, Cameron is Cameron. But the truth is, no subject, and no amount of kit compensates for the artists eye behind the camera. And that's why I love shooting with my wife (besides the fact that she's fun to look at).

I'd never noticed a resemblance between Cameron and Cindy until now: the twelfth one down from the top going left to right on your photography website.
I'm guessing they're getting married, since these look like announcement photos. Have they set a date and place? And though I've never met her, she looks like a nice girl - a nice addition to the family.
No wedding that we know of, just two happy people.
And Katie is wonderful. The Heywood's would be lucky to have her as an addition.
